Biography

Danielle Valiquette is a municipal councillor in the picturesque Grey Highlands, where she is known for her cooperative approach to politics and extensive community involvement. Danielle is the council liaison for Environment, Council, and Legislative Services, as well as a member of the Grey Highlands Public Library Board, the Grey Highlands Community Development Advisory Committee, and the Joint Waste and Diversion Committee. She is a graduate of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) Climate Leadership Course.

Among her municipal achievements, Danielle put forward a three-fold resolution in 2019 to declare a climate crisis, join the FCM Partners for Climate Protection Program, and strike a Climate Action Task Force. Her proposal received unanimous support, and the Task Force's concluding report will contribute to Grey Highlands' Climate Action Plan.

Strongly committed to economic growth, Danielle also serves as the Economic Development, Job Creation, and Trade Critic for the Green Party of Ontario. In 2019, she ran as the federal candidate in Bruce—Grey—Owen Sound for the Green Party of Canada.

A former project manager and business analyst, Danielle has a background in information technology but also loves the arts, including photography, and cares greatly for animals. She resides with her husband and three children on a farm outside Ceylon where she regeneratively farms pork on pasture.
