Lindsay Mathyssen

Born and raised in the London area, Lindsay has spent over a decade working side-by-side with NDP Members of Parliament on human rights, issues facing seniors, Indigenous reconciliation, and government accountability.
As a Member of Parliament, Lindsay works every day for a fairer deal for London families by fighting to take profit out of Long-Term Care, making sure everyone can afford the medications they need with universal pharmacare and protecting our environment by introducing two historic pieces of legislation that will protect our communities water now and for future generations.
Within the NDP Caucus Lindsay has been a leader, serving as the Party’s Critic for Women and Gender Equality where she has been championing the full implementation of pay equality legislation, better access for vital public services, the fight against violence against women and pushing for a universal, national and affordable childcare program.
As the NDP’s Critic for Diversity, Inclusion and Youth as well as the Critic for Post Secondary Education Lindsay has been a champion for people who are too often ignored by the government decisions. Lindsay has been fighting to make sure that every Canadian regardless of their income has access to quality post-secondary education, to ensure that the next generation isn’t burdened by tens of thousands of dollars of student debt.
On top of this Lindsay serves as the NDP’s Deputy Whip, Deputy Critic for Export Promotion and International Trade and Deputy Critic for Small Business.
